Highly Ranked & Impacts

Hello Nicholas! Do you wonder why Singapore Flyer has been highly ranked on TripAdviser? If you do, I believe that they are highly ranked because they have met the visitors needs and also having many unique packages and services.

Firstly, there are no other place in Singapore that offers these breathtaking, magnificent day and glittering night views of Singapore for visitors and also this is the world's largest observation wheel, so I think this is partly the reason why it is highly ranked on TripAdviser.

Singapore Flyer cater to a wide range of target markets, including tourist and locals, families and couples. It will be an eye opening experience to all target markets. I think the visitor's needs are met because for tourist and locals, I believe that they would want to experience the world's largest observation wheel and also being able to view Singapore at bird eye view.

Also, having unique experiences and packages like the Singapore Sling flight, world's first full butler sky dining and high tea flight. Such packages caters to both tourists and locals.
The sky dining experience which comes with 4 course menu, wine pairing and personalised butler service will be able to meet the needs of high end visitors. Also ideal for visitors who wants to pamper those people they care or want to impress.

The high tea menu includes a delightful assortment of finder sandwiches, muffins, pastries and macaroons, served with orange juice, freshly brewed coffee and tea. An excellent choice to spend a perfect afternoon relaxing with family and friends. This will meet the needs to local families and friends who wants to have a mini gathering.

They provide event packages as well for special occasions like weddings or anniversaries. I believe such packages will meet the needs of different target market be it local, tourist, families and couples. They even have promotions for local students to visit, now being part of their target market. Also as tourists will definitely want to try local delights and I think the Singapore Food Trail meet the needs of the target market as well.

I think that what makes Singapore Flyer different from other attractions is that as compared, other attractions will not be able to provide such experience to the visitors. Visitors will not be able to receive this same experience or view in any other attractions because this is the only place for visitors to view Singapore in bird eye view.

Promoting Themselves
I believe they have been successful in promoting themselves. As Singapore Flyer has a really wide range of media coverage from the newspaper and news. Some of the local coverage featuring Singapore Flyer includes: The Straits Times, TODAY, The Business Times, The New Paper, Lianhe Zaobao, Her World Magazine and many more. They even have international coverage from: Opodo Travel News, The Economist, The New York Times, Mice BTN, CNN.com and many more.

On 17 April 2013 In celebration of Mother’s Day, the world’s largest giant observation wheel host an hour long workshop – ‘Workout In The Sky’ as part of Mind Body Spirit Festival 2013. Led by instructors in the art of Yoga, Pilates and Fitness, Singapore Flyer aims to offer something truly unique and memorable as they celebrate this day not just for mothers but for everyone to enjoy a workout in specially fitted capsules 165 meters above ground! This shows that they have been promoting themselves to events like mother's day. Also they have membership cards for loyal customers which gives them benefits and priorities.

There are several impacts that Singapore Flyer has on Singapore.

Economic Impacts
For the economic impact, it actually helps to improve and increase the economy of Singapore and also the tourism receipts. As there are many other activities around Singapore Flyer like the luxurious car tour, retail outlets and food and beverages, it can actually help to draw significant foreign currencies into Singapore. Also income for government, through taxes paid by employees, sales taxes paid on items bought and entrance charges. It also provide jobs, directly and indirectly which will improve Singapore's economy to a large extent.

Environmental Impacts
As for the environmental impact, there will be damage, wear and tear, technical problem around as it is a human made attraction. There is also a destruction of natural environment during construction and there will be sources of pollution as visitors might tend to litter around the attraction. It also uses a huge amount of electricity which is not environmental friendly. They will have to adopt more environmentally- friendly ways of operation.

Socio-Culture Impacts
Lastly for the socio-culture impact, Singaporeans might leave a bad impression to tourist due to some of our Singaporeans behaviours such as being really pushy, rude and visitors from other countries might perceived Singapore differently thus leaving a bad impression to the country.

That is all for today Nicholas! I have work to do now and take care!

Service Product

Hi Nicholas! There are several nature of service and products in Singapore Flyer.

The staff involved in producing and delivering the product are part of the product itself
Before I entered the cabin, the staff at Singapore Flyer will greet me with a warm smile and guide me into the capsule. I find them very friendly and approachable which is one of the main concerns when it comes to the staff involved in producing and delivering the product itself. Also if there is any accidents that occur, visitors might be lost about what to do next, therefore the staff must be there to guide the visitors and it is important for them to facilitate the process.

The customers themselves are involved in the production process
To allow the visitors themselves to be involved in the production process, the visitors are able to experience the great scenery of Singapore themselves through the the ride on the flyer. However, since the capsule is an enclosed space, it will be very distracting if other visitors were to speak loudly. This will affect one's experience at Singapore Flyer.

The service product is not standardized
The service product is not standardise as they offer different timings for all the different packages available like the Singapore Sling flight and high tea. As there are different types of guest, their needs and wants would naturally differ as well.
The product is perishable, cannot be stored
The admission ticket of the Singapore Flyer cannot be stored for later use as in it is a one day admission ticket. Therefore the product is perishable and cannot be stored for later use. All the services provided on that day cannot be inspected, exchanged or refunded, if the received unsatisfied experience.

There is no tangible product to carry home
It is also not a tangible product as you cannot bring the whole experience and scenery home. It all has to be experienced at Singapore Flyer itself and there is no other way visitors can received it at other attractions.

The surroundings of the service delivery process are a feature of the service
Singapore Flyer allows the visitors to view the city skyline through the glass observatories and provides the visitors with the best views of the different places in Singapore. This allows them to take beautiful and memorable pictures from where they are viewing from.

I will share with you about Singapore Flyer promoting themselves and the impacts on my next post! Goodnight!

My Experience

Hey Nicholas! It is me again, this time round I am going to share with you my experience to Singapore Flyer last Saturday. Well, I have to say that it is really convenient for people to head over to Singapore Flyer because it took me only 5 minutes to walk over from the promenade MRT station. It is really accessible to all which makes it a plus point.

Upon reaching there, I saw this Ferrari driving out of the car park which I got pretty amazed by and after I took the brochure and glance through, I learn about the luxurious car tour activity that is available there. I feel that it was a pretty interesting activity furthermore being able to ride through the night race circuit which is one of Singapore's main event too.
What was even better is that they provide really good services, the staff there are all very friendly and approachable and also the safety measures. I have to go through this security measure before boarding the flyer.
The capsule of the Singapore Flyer is very spacious and clean and seats are available for people to sit on and it is air- conditioned.

You will be able to see so many different views from the top! Such as Raffles Place, Fullerton, Esplanade, Merlion Park, Singapore River, F1 Circuit, Helix Bridge, Marina Barrage, Marina Bay Sands and Garden's by the Bay.

After the trip around the attraction, I think what makes Singapore Flyer unique is that you really can't find another location to view Singapore as a whole and experiencing so many authentic Singapore taste.

Such as just viewing so many different attractions and landmarks of Singapore like the Marina Bay Sands and even the night race circuit for F1. Of course not missing out the authentic local delights available. What is more attractive is that you get all of it in just one location which is the Singapore Flyer.

I am really not sure where else you can head to if you want to see that much of Singapore. I mean surely there is a lot more attractions where you can visit in Singapore that is really interesting as well but for a one day trip, I would really recommend the Singapore Flyer.

Another thing is that they do not provide purely just an observation wheel but also many other activities around the area to attract many different kinds of target market.

For example the luxurious car tour, I am sure many F1 fans or Ferrari and Lamborghini lovers would love to try them out. As well as the packages and services they provide during the time you spent in the cabin of the observation wheel like dining in and the Signature cocktail and Singapore Sling flight. Apart from that, they do have event packages for special occasion as well such as weddings or anniversaries. I feel that this can cater to both local residents as well as the tourists.

I have more things to share with you about Singapore Flyer however not today as it is getting late, I will tell you more the next time so keep a look out on my blog and I am really excited to see you!

Motivating Factors

Hello Nicholas! I am pretty sure you are still wondering why did I chose this attraction out of the eight choices so I'll list out some of the motivating factors that will interest you to visit my recommended attraction.

Like I mention before, Singapore Flyer is one of Singapore's main attraction, and the fact that you will be in Singapore, you must visit a place that shows the country and there is only one place in Singapore that offers a bird’s eye view of the entire island city.

Singapore Flyer provides many different services and packages to cater to different needs. Apart from just observing Singapore through the cabin, you can actually have a taste of the iconic Singapore Sling served on board an iconic attraction using the original recipe developed in 1915. This package will cost about S$69 per ticket which include the drink. You can also choose to dine in with the spectacular view above ground as well, having high tea or a four course fine dining which will cost around S$99 and S$269 respectively.

Other then the observing wheel, we can also pay a visit to an interactive gallery for a deeper appreciation and understanding of the Singapore Story and the iconic Singapore Flyer, told via an engaging multimedia showcase featuring interactive animation, advanced technology and augmented reality.

I bet you will want to try some of the local cuisine such as the chicken rice, prawn noodles, barbecue seafood, spring roll and more. We can actually drop by the Singapore Food Trail, Singapore's first 1960s -themed food street, that houses a delightful collection of some of the nation's best and most well known 17 hawkers under one roof. We can settle down to have our meals and try different authentic Singapore food.

There is also other activities available too if you are ready to take off to more fun and exciting activities such as flight experience that allows you to operate the flight simulator like a real pilot, fish therapy, luxurious car tour and XD theatre which is a thrilling motion ride that is in 6D. Also you will be able to experience urban nature right in the centre of the atrium, a lush, tropical rain forest. The cascading water displays, streams, rocky outcrops and pond fuse together naturally to offer a picturesque landscape for photo taking.

By dusk, we can enjoy waterfront dining by the crystal clear waters of Marina Bay and under the twinkling stars as well as special lighting on the rim of Singapore Flyer that provides a dazzling display at night.

Core Product
If you are wondering what will you benefit from this attraction product then it will be the atmosphere, experiences and environment beauty. Firstly, the view and scenery around Singapore Flyer is magnificent! Be it in the day or night, you get to see many beautiful landmarks around including Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands. Apart from that, you get to experience the world largest observation wheel and looking at Singapore in bird eye view.

Tangible Product
Other than the core product, sharing the cabin together with the other visitors will be one of the tangible products. Also the safety and security measures of the visitors. They have safety features built into every capsule and airport style security measures. Before passengers can board the flyer, their baggage and handbags will be rigorously scanned and each capsule has 2 security cameras to monitor activity inside the capsule. In the event of an emergency, there will be an evacuation procedure, ensuring that the visitors are kept safe and unharmed during the event.

Augmented Product
Also for the augmented product,  there are some shops like Pictureworks and Singapore Flyer Gifts. Pictureworks will be able to capture your special moment at the Singapore Flyer capsule and apart from that, there is a souvenir shop where you can bring home lovely souvenir that has a wide array of gift ideas relating to the Singapore Flyer and allows you to remember your time at Singapore Flyer.
They also provide directory and brochures for the visitors to move around conveniently.

Singapore Flyer has ramps, lifts and handicapped toilets too making it easy for those in wheelchairs to get in, out and around the Flyer. They also have a parking lot for the handicapped situated right next to the lift. When visitors with wheelchair board the Flyer, the staff there will help to adjust the speed of the wheel so that they can board smoothly.

I am pretty sure that you are quite convinced with my motivating factors now right? I mean there are really a lot of things to do and experience in Singapore Flyer which will definitely allow you to savour a taste of Singapore before you get back to states.

Also all the benefits of the products that the attraction provides, both tangible and intangible will allow you to enjoy this attraction especially the core product itself.

I hope you will be as excited as I am! As for now, I have some work to complete but I will tell you more about my experience tomorrow and also some pictures of me with Singapore flyer!

If you don't then I'll tell you now that it actually reaches up to 42 stories high, with a total height of 165m (541 ft), making it the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, 5m (16 ft) taller than the Star of Nanchang and 30m (98 ft) taller than the London Eye!

This unique giant observation wheel allows us to enjoy unobstructed views from every direction of Singapore and by visiting there on either the day or night,  taking in breathe taking sights of dynamic Singapore. Plus, wonderful glimpses of Malaysia and Indonesia. It was definitely a moving experience at every turn!

The price of the ticket is S$33 for an adult, S$21 for a child and S$24 for senior citizens. But I actually got my ticket for S$15 as they are having promotion for students studying in Singapore.

Singapore Flyer

Hey Nicholas! How are you doing in states? I have received the list of recommended attractions you have suggested from TripAdviser and well, due to limited time, I have chosen one of the most suitable attraction for you to visit. Are you ready for it?

It is the Singapore Flyer! Are you excited? Well, there are several reasons to why I chose Singapore Flyer and one of the reason is because this is definitely one of Singapore's main attraction, and since you are in Singapore I believe that you should really visit a place that shows the country.

There is only one place in Singapore that offers a bird’s eye view of the entire island city – Singapore Flyer. You will be treated to a visual 360˚ feast of iconic and historical landmarks such as Singapore River, Raffles Place, Merlion Park, and Empress Place.

As compared to the other attractions like zoos, aquariums and museums, I believe there are such attractions in other countries too whereas there is no other way you can get to view Singapore in other countries. So instead of admiring animals, plants or other artifacts, you can actually take this visit to view Singapore as a whole in bird eye view.

I know that It might seems boring to be in a cabin of a giant observation wheel for about an hour, but during the time we spent in the cabin, I can point out the different places and attractions you may want to visit the next time you come Singapore. I will pay a visit to Singapore Flyer by next week so that I can get to know more about this attraction. It is getting late now, and I will tell you about my experiences in Singapore Flyer in my next few entries, stay tune and I can't wait to see you!
